How did my closet get so messy (top) when it used to be so neat (bottom)?
Have you ever cleaned out your closet, only to find it looking like a mess again a week or two later? Me too! A few weeks ago I had prepped my fall capsule wardrobe and my closet looked like the closet on the bottom. The shelves had lots of space, there was room in between each hanger, and most important of all, I could see and access everything I had inside my closet.
Yet the other day I looked inside my closet and discovered that it had turned into the mess at the top. The shelves were overflowing, there wasn’t much space in between each hanger, and overall I couldn’t see or reach for at least half or more of the things in my closet.

It’s one of my favorite times of the year—the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale—and in my last post I began my Fall Capsule Wardrobe Prep (Part 1). Last time I put together an action plan for shopping the sale. This plan focused on becoming familiar with the merchandise that is currently on sale, plugging up any wardrobe holes, and ensuring that the pieces that I buy will help me to create outfits.
It’s time to check-in on my 2017 Spring Capsule Wardrobe.
My area gets roughly 3 months of spring weather—March, April, and May. With 2 months under my belt since my Spring And Summer Capsule Wardrobe Prep (Part 3), I thought it would be a good time to check-in on how my Spring Capsule Wardrobe is doing thus far this season. Here’s what’s working, and what isn’t:
In the last couple of posts I’ve been working on updating my Spring and Summer Capsule Wardrobe. It’s time for Part Three, where I’ll review what I purchased and how I am planning to wear some of the new things I’ve added to my Spring and Summer Capsule Wardrobe.
Part Three: Purchase Review and Wardrobe Planning.

I’m almost ready to start getting some of these!
In my last post I began prepping my spring and summer capsule wardrobes. Now that I’ve organized what I already own for these two capsule wardrobes, it’s time for me to think about what I am going to go out and buy.
Part Two-Write my shopping list.
Before I can shop, first I have to create a list. I prepared my shopping list with these 3 steps:
With the arrival of spring merchandise in the stores, I really want to go shopping. But before I do I’m going to prep my wardrobe for the arrival of new additions by following the 5-steps outlined above. This process will be a 3-part series:
Part One I’ll review, edit, and shop my closet for my Spring and Summer Capsule Wardrobes.
Part Two I’ll write my shopping list and go shopping for my Spring and Summer Capsule Wardrobes.
Part Three I’ll review what I purchased and how I am planning to wear some of the new things I’ve added to my Spring and Summer Capsule Wardrobes.
The holiday’s are approaching fast bringing with it one of my favorite things about this time of year, the opportunity to get dressed up. My special occasion capsule is one of my least used capsules in my wardrobe. In fact, it’s used so little I’m purging it!
Why on earth would someone do this right before the holiday’s arrive?
During my favorite sale, I fell in love with the green plaid boots on the left. I went back and forth, undecided on purchasing them. They weren’t on my shopping list, and I had already picked up a pair of short boots during the sale. BUT….they were super cute and they were on sale!
Right before the sale ended, I snatched them up. After all, they were from a brand (Sorel) I already knew, they were a wedge heel (ie comfy for my fussy feet) and did I mention the most important point of all—they were on sale!
