If you’re following me on Instagram then you already know that I recently went on a 5 day, 4 night trip by plane for work. As a seasoned traveler I rarely use more than 1 checked bag for a business trip, even when it requires multiple outfit changes throughout the day. Here’s what I packed for 4 days of meetings require a business professional dress code (bring on the suits) and outfits for squeezing in a little sightseeing in between meetings (bring on the jeans!) I’ll discuss how I put together my work travel capsule.
The stores are fully stocked with the spring collections right now. Blush, mint, coral, sky blue, lavender, pale yellow, daisies, roses, tulips, forget-me-nots; everywhere I look I see pretty pastel shades and fun floral prints.
But if you take a look at my recent shopping haul one color in particular immediately stands out—black!
Why would I buy so much black when there are so many other pretty colors to pick from?
While I was shopping for my Spring and Summer capsule wardrobe I found an opportunity to update my Business Capsule wardrobe too. When I wrote my shopping list (in this post) I had 4 items I wanted to add to my Business Capsule wardrobe (1 new outfit consisting of three pieces and 1 blouse to pair with my current trousers). I came close to this goal and added the 5 items at the top of this post.
Recently I updated my business capsule wardrobe in three parts:
Part One: Purging. In part one, I reviewed my wardrobe and purged items as necessary.
Part Two: Shopping. In part two, I purchased new pieces.
Part Three: Remixing. In part three, I double-checked that my new additions remixed well with my capsule items.
Any time something is added to my wardrobe, it’s going to have a ripple effect. Not only will the capsule it’s added to change, but my overall wardrobe will change as well. Let’s take a look at the impact of the new business capsule additions on my entire wardrobe.
