Key elements of spring fashion include pastel shades, floral prints, and lace details. But, if the ultra-girly style and colors that characterize spring are not your thing, then you’ll have to think of another way to add a nod to the season in your wardrobe.
Personal style means exactly that—it’s personal. No matter what the season is, you want to make sure that the pieces that you buy always stay true to your personal style.
I don’t sport pastel shades, ever. They are not the most flattering of colors on me and the lighter shades are a main reason why I am not a fan of spring collections. But that doesn’t stop me from dressing for the season—my way.
Here are 3 times that I’ll swap spring fashion favorites for pieces that still reflect the season, but also stay true to my personal style.
Pastel Shades For White
Pastel shades are a classic in spring collections, and so is the color white. White instantly brightens up any outfit. As soon as the spring season hits, my white jeans go into heavy rotation. The bright shade is a refreshing change after months of sporting dark winter colors. White is also a basic color that pairs well with any other color, which makes mixing and matching outfits super easy.
Floral Print For Stripes
Florals are another classic in spring collections, but so are stripes. Blue and white stripes are my personal favorite, but really, any stripe will do. I’m especially fond of pairing white jeans with a striped sweater on cold spring days. This outfit pairing keeps me warm and looking like spring.
Lace For Leather
Leather jackets are often thought of during the fall season, but they work just as well in spring months too, especially if your spring days start cold but warm up by the afternoon. Layering a leather jacket over a dress is a pretty look for spring. If you picked up a moto jacket for fall, give it a try over one of your spring dresses for a fun look.
