In the US tomorrow is Thanksgiving Day. Turkey. Stuffing. Sweet Potatoes. Cornbread. Cranberry Sauce. Pumpkin Pie. Pecan Pie. Thanksgiving is a holiday centered around eating. And if you are planning to stuff your face, you’re going to need an outfit that is makes you feel good, while also accommodating pigging out.
Here are 4 outfit ideas for a casual Thanksgiving spent with family and friends.
Sport A Sweater Dress And Booties
Casual and cozy, sporting a sweater dresses is quite similar to wearing an oversize sweater, just longer. The knit material is not too tight, giving you extra room at the end of your meal. Add a pair of fun hose if you need added leg coverage and top off your outfit with booties for a fall vibe.
Pair An Oversize Sweater With Leggings
For many families, Thanksgiving is a day long event. Family time spent watching tv, playing a board game, or simply catching up over a drink is quite common. When you’re lounging around, but not at home, an oversize sweater and leggings will keep you comfortable, while also taking your outfit up a notch from sweatpants. If you’re not a sweater gal, you can swap the sweater for a cardigan and a T-shirt.
Wear Boyfriend Jeans With A Statement Sweater
I’m a jeans gal and carry that preference for my Thanksgiving day outfit. Because skinny jeans worn and a Thanksgiving meal may not be the best option, I switch to boyfriend jeans. If you simply can’t let go of your skinny jeans, it may be helpful to wear your stretchiest pair or sport jeans a size larger than normal and add a belt. A statement sweater will help draw the eye upward, just in case you try to sneak unbuttoning your pants while sitting on the couch after your meal. 🙂
Rock A Jumpsuit
If you’re feeling bold, try a jumpsuit with a drawstring waist! The jumpsuit says fashion just as easily as a statement sweater would, but freshens up your outfit with something a little unexpected.
