About a month ago I was on holiday in Las Vegas, NV and came across the convention for the NFR. As I walked around I was flooded with items for free, free, free. So of course, I grabbed everything in my sights. Mini chocolate bars, hard candies, pens, flyers, magazines, even an autographed poster.
But what happened once I got everything home?
Well, it’s been over a month since the convention and these pieces are still cluttering up my home. Clearly I didn’t need any of these pieces if they have sat unused all of this time.
A few weeks ago I was doing my Christmas shopping and wanted to replace one of my workout tops. I came across a “buy one, get one free” promotion in the Asics outlet. It sounded like a good deal at the time and I couldn’t resist a free workout top. But I only needed one. So I ended up purchasing another pair of black workout pants to compliment my “free” top. This increased the size of my workout capsule, which is not what I was originally trying to do when I went to the stores.
Just because it’s free, doesn’t mean I have the need or the room for it.
Do you say yes or no when something is free?
