It’s been 1 week since I began The French Capsule Challenge, which was inspired by French/Parisian wardrobes. I selected a core of 4 colors, spread out among 21 items for 3 weeks.
After only 1 week I already have a couple of observations:
- Pick the correct shoes
- Fewer clothes and colors = Faster dressing
Let’s jump right into the observations.
1. Pick the correct shoes
I haven’t been able to wear the printed dress in my capsule wardrobe, because I did not select the correct shoes. The high vamp of the buckle flats is not flattering to my eye since it shortens the leg line, the flip flops are too casual, and the grey color of the wedges doesn’t really ‘go’ with the colors of the print for this dress. I typically sport this dress with the navy cap toe flats which I did not include in the French Capsule Challenge wardrobe.
2. Fewer clothes and colors = Faster dressing
As expected, the less options I have, the less thinking I do for assembling an outfit, and the faster I get dressed. I never had a day of tossing piece after piece onto the bed or floor because I could not assemble an outfit.
Have you ever tried a French inspired wardrobe?
